Define ethics
are the beliefs of a society or group as to what is right and wrong within the context of that society or group.
Define morals
are beliefs about right and wrong that an individual develops internally.
Define laws
are written rules created and enforced by the authority of a government and the courts.
Define justice
is the concept of what is fair and equitable, so that everyone gets treated the same way in the same situation.
What are factual statements?
statements that are either true or false.
What are conceptual statements?
statements about the meaning of a term or the scope or boundary of a term when it is being defined.
What are moral statements?
statements that something is right or wrong.

What are 4 ethical theories?
- utilitarianism: the best solution to an ethical problem is the one that produces the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
- duty-based ethics: the best solution to an ethical problem is the one that applies universal ethical principles.
- rights-based ethics: the best solution to an ethical problem is the one that respects the basic rights of the most people.
- virtue-based ethics: the best solution to an ethical problem is one in which a compromise between two extremes is applied.
What are the ethical responsibilities of professionals?
