he realizes theres a seed of courage in him. although hes not very fat or timid, bilbo and gandalf think hes the best hobbit in the Shire
who has taken frodo and the others prisoner and cast them under a dreadful spelll? what are they?
barrow wights. they are a kind of undead-like creature and they were shadowy figures. they were evil spirits. could talk with cold voices. carried rings on their bony fingers.
what is frodo tempted to do to escape

who does frodo call to help save them . what does he do to help
he calls tom. tom sings to the barrow wights so they get out and let the hobbits go
who is fatty lumpkin/ what does tom announce to the hobbits/ why is he doing this. does he plan to stay with them on the whole journey
fatty is toms pony whcih was larger fatter and older than the other ponies. tom announces that fatty and he will go with them , but he won’t always be near because goldberry is waiting for him at home.
wheere did the treasure come from? what did tom pick for each hobbit
the treasure came from the barrow wights’ caves. tom got daggers and swords for all of them
what had never occured to any of them as one of the adventures in which their fllight would land them
they had never thought of fighting

once they reach the road, who says goodbyte and where do the hobbits go as advised
tom says goodbye. they go four miles along the Road to reach Bree-hill to the Prancing Pony inn.,
