Smeagol was a hobbit like creature that turns into Gollum. He was fishing with his friend Deagol, when his friend had spotted the Ring. Smeagol strangled his friend and killed him, so that he could get the Ring. He took the Ring with him to a cave in the Misty Mountains
who took the ring from Gollum in the misty mountains?
bilbo took the ring from gollum. he stumbled over the ring when it was on the floor. the ring decideded to be on the floor so that bilbo could find it. bilbo was meant to find it because the ring was looking to leave Gollum
what is the only way for the Ring to be destroyed?
it has to be taken to the fire mountain in Orodruin when the Cracks of Doom are found.
why does Frodo so readily agree with Gandalfs advice that he go to Rivendell?
he figures he could follow Bilbo and find him. he wanted to protect the Shire from any danger that the Ring would cause there.
