Conglomerate: a company that owns several smaller businesses whose products or services are usually very different.
The nightclub has a very fashionable clientele.
Developing a committed clientele can be more valuable that attracting new customers.
Clientele: all the customers of a business when they are considered as a group

New customers’ loyalty to a company’s products may be fleeting.
Fleeting: short or quick
Brand loyalty is a phsycological bond that, once established, is difficult to reverse.
There is a pressure on the council to reverse its decision.
Bond: connection
Reverse: change to its opposite
True brand loyalty differs from what some marketing researchers refer to as spurious loyalty.
Downright: especially of something bad , extremely or very great.
Spurious:
Shoppers complained about poor quality merchandise and high prices.
Merchandise: goods that are bought and sold.
Household staples such as milk, eggs, sugar, and paper products create little brand loyalty, with most consumers.
Staple: a basic household item
Even top quality is not enough on its own to forge a strong connection with a consumer.
The accident forged a close bond between the two families.
She forged a new careed for herself as a singer.
Forge: to make or produce something
Products that carry an endorsement from a celebrity forge a strong connection with consumer.

Endorsement: the fact of a famous person appearing in an advertisement saying that they use and like a product
The campaign hasn’t received any political endorsement.
Endorsement: the act of saying that you approve of or support sth or someone.
People consistently purchase pricey items because of the perceived status those items confer.
It is a bit pricey but the food is wonderful.
Pricey: expensive
New technology was percieved to be a threat to employment.
How do you perceive your new role?
Perceive: have a belief about something, to come to an opinion about something.
The success of her book has given her unexpected celebrity status.
Status: an accepted or official position, especially in a social group.
I need some time to confer with my lawyer.
Confer: to exchange ideas on a particular subject , often in a order to reach a decision on what action to take.
The company has consistently outperformed its rivals this season.
Outperform: to do well in a particular job or activity compared to others of a similar type.
