Infant pulmonary
Nose breather, under 6 months suspectible to nasal congestion, which can lead to viral infections.
Tongue is larger in proportion, and airway is shorter and narrow, leading to more airway obstruction
Infant ventilation
Lungs are fragile, forceful Ventilations and over inflation can increase pressure and lead to barotrauma
Barotrauma
Caused by pressure to end closed body surfaces, I.e to much pressure in the lungs
Moro reflex
Infant reflex where they open their arms wide and spread fingers and seem to grab at things
Palmar grasp reflex
When an object is placed in hand of neonate and they closer their hand around it
Rooting reflex
Something touches the infants cheek and they instinctively turn their head toward it
Suckling reflex
Infant starts sucking when their lips are stroked
Fontanelles
Areas where neonates skill has not fused together. Posterior closes by the 3rd month, anterior between 9-18 months.
Depressed could mean degydration
