Q

What was the fourth phase of the Korean War?

A

Jun 1951- Jul 1953
Neither side mounted any significant military offensives during this period, the lack of UN action convinced Mao and Stalin there was a genuine desire for a peace settlement, the USA had consolidated its relationship with Japan and felt more secure in its involvement with Far East and a national disinclination to cooperate with each other led to a long delay in reaching a settlement.
