Engagement Stage
Determine why treatment was sought, why now, the parameters of the helping relationship, and expectations for treatment
Assessment Stage
Gather information from client to define the problem and potential sollutions
Planning Stage
Common understanding of clients preferred lifestyle –> goal formulation –> specific action steps agreed upon as well as timelines for implementation and review
Intervention Stage
Client must bring attention to issues that arise that could threaten goal attainment. Progress based on clients report must be tracked and plans adjusted accordingly
Evaluation Stage
Subjective reports and objective indicators examined to determine when goals/objectives have been met and whether to set new ones
Termination Stage
Client should reflect on achievements and determine what supports are in place if problems arise

Supportive Family/Community Community and cultural events Faith and spiritual/religious beliefs Multilingual capabilities Healing practices and beliefs Participation in rituals Dreams and aspirations
