A

1) physical functioning - focus on physical limitations regarding to take care of self, being mobile, etc
2) mental health - focus on feelings of anxiety and depression, psychological well-being and control of emotions and behaviors
3) social well-being - focus on visiting with or speaking on the telephone with friends and family
4) role functioning - focus on freedom of limitations in discharging usual role activities
5) general health perceptions - focus on self-assessment of current health status on amounts of pain being experienced
6) symptoms - focus on reports of physical and psychophysiologic symptoms

A
  1. prevention - minimize risk of disease, injury and disability
  2. detection - examinations and such
  3. promotion - encourage and persuade indviduals to engage in HPBs and avoid or disengage health-harming behaviors
  4. protection - health protection activities

Macro approach to explaining health behaviors (4 factors)

A

1) the availability of protective or harmful consumer products (such as tobacco, high fat foods etc)
2) physical structure/ physical characteristics (child proof medical containers, seat belts)
3) octal structures and policies (enforcement of fines for selling tobacco to those who are underage, provision for community day care services)
4) media and culture messages (such as advertisements for alcohol products)
