Process of relocating seats in the House of Representatives every 10 years based off the census
Reapportionment
Process where individuals in a society acquire political attitudes, views and knowledge based on inputs from family, schools, media and others
Political socialization
Relatively small proportion of people who are chose in a survey so as to be representing a whole
Sample
Everyone has equal probability to be selected for the sample
Random sampling
Levels of confidence in the findings of a public opinion poll -more interviewed the more confidence in one can be of the results
Sampling error
Technique where telephones calls are made to numbers for a survey
Random digit dialing
Voters who support a candidate because others support them
Bandwagon effect
Public opinion surveys used by major media pollsters to predict electoral winners with speed and precision
Exit poll
Coherent set of beliefs politics, public policy and public purpose, which helps give meaning to political events
Political ideology
Pattern where women support democratic candidates because they are less conservative than men and more likely to support spending on social services and to oppose higher levels of military spending
Gender gap
Activities used by citizens to influence the selection of Political leaders or the policies they pursue such as voting, protest or civil disobedience
Political participation
Form of political participation designed to achieve policy change through dramatic and unconventional tactics
