Similar to the Italian Frottola.
Light, chordal, homorhythmic , with simple harmonies such as the tonic, subdominant and dominant
Melodies usually in the upper line.

Secular Italian vocal music (1530’s) for 3 or more voices
Mostly secular
More polyphonic with more complex (contrapuntal) textures than the Frottola
