AT in Rehab Setting
- similar skillset as AT with athletics
- greater variety of patients (age, ability, activity returning to)
AT in Performance Enhancement Setting
- can be seasonal or year-round
- clinic-based performance enhancement allows easy access to other sports med professionals
- must be able to recognize different needs of clients
AT in Clinical Research
Clinic-based research has access to:
- multiple age groups
- variety of athletic events
- variety of “in-house” programs
Duties of AT in Clinical Research
- screening
- recruiting
- protocol discussion
- data collection
- data interpretation
Places for AT to market themselves
Health Fairs:
- ATs can educate the public and increase awareness of their work roles by providing services at health fairs
Educational Programs:
- ATs can attend and educate at seminars to market their profession to the public
PPEs:
- ATs can assist with PPE at secondary schools and display the importance and neccesity of their role
