What is the definition of health?
Health is a state of physical an d mental well-being.
Name 3 factors that can have an effect on mental and physical health.
Factors including diet, stress, and life situations may have profound effect on both mental and physical health.
What is the definition of a communicable disease?
A communicable disease is one that is spread from one person to another through a variety of ways that include: contact with blood and bodily fluids; breathing in an airborne virus; or by being bitten by an insect.
What is the definition of non-communicable disease?
A non-communicable disease (NCD) is a disease that is not transmissible directly from one person to another. NCDs include Parkinson’s disease, autoimmune diseases, strokes, most heart diseases, most cancers, diabetes, chronic kidney disease
Name three factors that can affect health and justify?
- Diet - if you do not get enough to eat, or the right nutrients, you may suffer from diseases ranging from starvation to anaemia or rickets. Too much food, or the wrong type of food, can lead to problems such as obesity, some cancers, or type 2 diabetes.
- Stress - Scientists are increasingly linking too much stress to an increased risk of developing a wide range of health problems. include: heart disease
- Life situations - where you live, your gender, financial status, ethic group, amount of children you have, local sewage and rubbish disposal.
