What was a militia?
Military force made up of civilians trained as soldiers.
Why did the French & Indian War begin?
It began in 1754 over land disputes. Both France and Britain claimed land in the Ohio River Valley.
What were the results of the French & Indian War for the French?
They lost almost all of its North American possessions to Britain.
What were the results of the French & Indian War for the British?
They received Spanish Florida and all North American lands, but Britain was left with a lot of debt.

Without the help of the French, Native Americans could not stop British settlers from moving onto their land.

It lowered the price of tea, and it intended to help the British East India Company.
Why did the colonists resent the Tea Act?
It established a British monopoly on tea.
Who were the minutemen?
Citizen soldiers who fought the British at Lexington and Concord.
