When following a truck at night, always dim your headlights.
Bright lights will blind the driver of the large vehicle when they reflect off the large side mirror.
When passing a truck, let the driver know that you are passing by blinking your headlights, especially at night.
An orange slow-moving vehicle emblem must be on the rear of certain slow-moving vehicles.
Slow-moving vehicles may make wide turns and may turn right or left at any time into unmarked entrances. When approaching from the rear, stay a safe distance behind the vehicle until it is safe to pass.

When lights are required, a flashing amber signal must be mounted as high as possible on the rear of the vehicle. It must be visible for 500 feet in sunlight.
Traffic Signals, Walk Lights and Crossings
Walk (Walking Person) - Pedestrians may cross the roadway in direction of signal
Don’t Walk (flashing orange upraised hand) - Pedestrians may NOT start entering the roadway. A pedestrian already in roadway may continue to a sidewalk or safety island.
Don’t Walk (constantly lit orange upraised hand) - Pedestrians may NOT enter roadway
Yellow Light (Constant upraised hand) - Pedestrian may NOT cross unless otherwise directed
Pedestrians MUST NOT walk on a roadway unless no sidewalk or shoulder next it.
In 2-way traffic, pedestrians should walk facing oncoming traffic.
If a highway does NOT have a sidewalk but has a shoulder, pedestrians should walk on shoulder as far from roadway as possible.
Pedestrians ages 18 or older may skate on public roadways where posted speed limit is 45 mph or less f**ro**m sunrise to sunset
If a red light fails to turn green after 120 seconds, a motorcycle rider MAY proceed through the intersection after yielding the right of way to oncoming traffic.
Following Distance
Allow at least 3 to 4 seconds following distance when behind a motorcycle.
Autocycle - 3-wheeled vehicle that has a steering wheel and _seating that does not require the driver to straddle or sit astride i_t.

Scooters and Mopeds
Only motor-driven cycles and motorcycles, properly titled and registered in IL, may be legally operated on Illinois roadways.
