Stomach features
Outer-longitudinal, inner-circular, innermost-oblique
Layers of stomach muscles
1st-superior, 2nd-descending, 3rd-horizontal, 4th-ascending
Parts of the duodenum
Thicker, wider and more vascular, with large vascular arcades
Jejunal features
Thinner, narrower and less vascular, with less vascular arcades
Ileal features
Haustrations, teniae coli and appendices epiploica
Large bowel features
Endodermal origin, supplied by inferior mesenteric artery branch
Upper half of anal canal
Ectodermal in origin, supplied by an internal pudendal artery branch
Lower half of anal canal
Major duodenal papilla, ampula of Vater surrounded by Oddi sphincter
Foregut-Midgut junction
Proximal 2/3 and distal 1/3 of the transverse colon
Midgut-hindgut junction
