Go through clinical orientation
What does clinical education include
Direct patient contact, communication (nonverbal and verbal), and will be culturally diverse
Patients with be of all ages, physical types (moving and paralyzed), incarcerated, etc.
what will clinical progression look like
Observe, assist and the perform
What do you assist with in the clinical setting - before you perform
Room setup, getting patient from waiting room, walking patient out, etc.
Direct Supervision
RT must be physically present
RT must approve request for the student performs competency
Evaluate the condition of patient in relation to students knowledge
Approve the procedure and images
Indirect supervision
RT can be immediately available if needed
RT will still approve the procedure and images
