Regulates HOSPITAL quality/safety of care of patients
Supervises hospital - NOT JRC
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Federal agency that establishes standards for safety in the workplace
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
Some imaging centers are required to meet certain standards in order to receive Medicare payments - this group determines if the center meets those guidelines
Safety Committee
provides education to employees on safety policies and procedures
Infection Control Committee
Regulates infection control policy and procedure
Does studies for patient and employee protection
Radiation Safety Committee
Regulates hospital activity for radiation safety and nuclear medicine activates - radiation badges
Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (P&T)
Review the drugs and their use within a facility - including iodinated contrast media used in radiology
Risk Management/Corporate Compliance
Manages and controls the amount of legal and financial risk to an organization
