- we ask the Father in Jesus’ name
- what we seek is good for our salvation
- we pray with perseverance, devotion, humility, and confidence
- we pray “in the state of grace”
4 types of prayer; ACTS
adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, and supplication/petition
