What is the difference between an art museum and an art gallery?
One goes to an art museum to view, whereas you go to an art gallery to view art from the perspective of purchasing the art
Exhibition
A special showing of selected artworks. It will have a theme and title
Retrospective
Looking back. A retrospective exhibition looks back at work that a living or recently deceased artist has produced over their entire career
Art installation
Used to describe mixed-media constructions or assemblages that are usually designed for a specific place and are only displayed for a temporary period of time
Performance art
Art that combines visual art with dramatic performances
Benefactor
A person who gives help to a person or cause
Bequest
A gift to an art museum
Conservator
Specialist who carefully cleans and restores a piece so that it is as close as possible to its original condition
Curator
The person who makes, plans and manages all details of an exhibition
