What 4 things should the pharmacy record do?
- Be recorded accurately + reflect the RP at any time.
- Made personally by the RP- can be made remotely as long as record complies with professional standard.
- alterations made for paper/electronic need to identify when + whom made it.
- e-records should b backed up + kept on pharmacy premise in case of audit.

RP name
RP reg number
Date/time when RP was RP
Date/time when they stopped being RP
If absent- date, time left and time arrived to pharmacy
How long should pharmacy record be kept for?
5 years

- Arrangements to secure med products are: ordered, stored, prepped + sold via retail

every 2 years OR after incident
What is needed when temporary amendments made to procedure?
Need to maintain audit trail to show what procedures in place, what procedures was in place, RP who amended procedure, date amendment made.
How long can RP be absent for ?
2 hrs during pharmacy business hours - midnight to midnight
What 3 arrangements need to be in place if the RP is absent?
RP can only be absent if pharmacy can continue to run safely + effectively.
RP should be contactable + should return
If RP is NOT contactable/ can’t return, they need to arrange another pharmacist to come help.
