👤PTA: Less emphasis on theoretical and evaluative componets of PT.
👤PTA: Recieves an 2 Year Associates Degree. PTs a Doctorate.
👤PTA: Trained more in the 5th component of “patient/client management (intervention)” than PTs.
👥Both have to perform generic abilities (ethical decision making, critical thinking,communication skills ect).
👥Both develop and enhance their clinical skills through hundreds of hours of interaction with patients under supervision of practicing clinicians.
👥Both programs expect optimal saftey, effectiveness, and modifications of interventions in the delivery of physical therapy services.
Explain why it’s important for PT/PTA team to have trust in each others abilities.
It allows for the PT/PTA to communicate more readily causing them to work more efficiently benifiting the patients needs.
Whose responsibility is it to ensure that all directions and parameters for patient progression have been clarified?
PTA: If paremeters for patient progression are not clear, it is their responsibility to seek further information.
