⭐️The purpose of the task in relation to treating the patient’s problem vs. contributing to the patient’s sense of well-being and satisfaction with the overall provision of services.

- Polio epidemic of the early 1900’s
* patients who contracted polio sustained temporary or permanent paralysis and muscular atrophy because of the disease process and prolonged bed rest associated with it. - World War 1
* Due to medical treatment advances, soldiers injured survived there injuries at a much higher rate than previous wars, but had trouble returning to duty or civilian life.
(Both groups needed rehabilitation)
