What does original Medicare includes?
Medicare Part A (Hospice Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance).
What does Medicare Part A helps cover?
Inpatient care in a hospital, skilled nursing facility (SNF) care, end-of-life hospice care and home health services.

No, they do not.
What does a benefit period begins?
The day a person is admitted as an inpatient to a hospital or SNF.
When does a benefit period ends?
When a person hasn’t received any inpatient hospital of SNF care for 60 days in a row.
If the beneficiary goes back into a hospital or an SNF after one benefit period has ended, does a new benefit period begins?
Yes.
Is there a limit to the number of benefit periods a patient may incur during a calendar year?
No.
