What is social responsibility (CSR)?
Obligation to maximize positive impact on society while minimizing negative impact on society.
What is marketing citizenship?
Strategy focus for fulfilling economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic social responsibilities expected by stakeholders.
What is sustainability (issue of CSR)?
Long term well-being of natural environment, elim. waste, price reflect cost, make environmentalism profitable.
What is bill of rights of consoomerism (issue of CSR)?
Protect rights of consumers including safety, information, choice, and hear voice of consoomer.
What are the negative community relations (issue of CSR)?
Actions that could damage community, pollution, urban sprawl, and exploiting workforce.
What are the positive community relations (issue of CSR)?
Supporting local business, supplying new jobs, and giving back.
What are ethical issues in marketing?
Recalls, bribery, price gouging, bait and switch, counterfeiting, vulnerable populations, greenwashing.
What is puffery marketing?
An exaggerated claim that a reasonable person would not accept as a fact.
What are the ethical marketing decisional factors?
Individual factors, opportunity, organizational relationships.
What is the difference between ethics and CSR?
Ethics is group/individual choices, judgment making and what is right vs. Wrong, and CSR is total effect of marketing decisions on society.
What is the commonality between CSR, ethics, and strategic planning?
Society’s demands impose costs, satisfying one group may dissatisfy another, good business, long run value outweighs short term costs.
What is green marketing?
Marketing products presumed to be environmentally safe.
What is strategic philanthropy?
Using corporate resources to realize social and organizational goals.
What is the pyramid of CSR in descending order?
Philanthropic (top), ethical, legal, economic.
