Point of Origin
Place were all transformation are executed in relation to a fixed point.
4 Basic Methods for Making Transformations
- Click transform tools- then click and drag anywhere on art board
- Double click the transform tool.
- Click transform tool the click the art board.
- Click transform tool- press alt then click art board.
Free transform
Applies an 8 handled bounding box to selected image.
Transform panel
Displays info about the size, orientation and location of your selected objects.
X and Y coordinates
Indicates objects horizontal (x) and vertical (y) locations on artboard.
Shear Tool
hidden behind scale tool-shears at an angle
Concentric
Refers to objects that share the same center point.
Outline Stroke command
Converts strikes path into a closed path that is the same width as the original stroked panel.
Compound Shape
2 or more paths that are combined in such ways that “holes” appear wherever paths overlap.
Pathfinders
Group of preset operations that help you combine paths in a variety of ways.
Add to shape area
Converts 2 or more overlapping objects into a single merged object.
Subtract from shape area
Where shapes overlap.
Intersect shape area
Creates a single merged object from the area where 2 or more objects overlap.
Minus back
The opposite of Subtract: deletes the backrest object from the frontmost object.
Divide
Divides an object into its component filled faces.
