Chapter 39 Flashcards
What is slave-master architecture
Client is slave and server is master. Client always contact to server
What is twice NAT
If there is no entry in translation table then its solution is twice NAT. Twice NAT gets help of domain name server.
What is IP routing
It inserts/changes values in routing table. Propagation of routing information to other routers.
What is the difference between routing and forwarding
Forwarding refers to datagram transfer. It is performed by host or router and uses routing table.
Routing refers to propagation of routing information. Routers communicate shortest routes information to other routers. It inserts/changes in routing table.
What are 2 types of routing
- Static
2. Dynamic
What is static routing
It is such a routing in which routes does not change. Until and unless an error is find out. Routes changed by network administrator manually. Static routing is inflexible.
What is dynamic routing
Routers can alter automatically.
Does static/dynamic routes set manually at start
Yes
What is routing software/route propagation software
In dynamic routing, routers have this software and they can communicate with each other. They can be of same type and they can be of different type. There are different routing protocols run by this software.
What type of routing mostly used in internet/PCs
Dynamic
Can we set default router
Yes
