What requirements are there
for a database to be
protected by DBPR? Consider its
creation and investment.

A

Not all databases are protected – there must have been “qualitatively or
quantitatively a substantial investment”.
Substantial investment – requires consideration of:
- Quality
- Quantity
- Obtaining (of the data for the database)
- Verification (to make sure that the data is accurate)
- Presentation (how is the data presented in the database).

It can be protected via copyright if it has original work meaning that it has original structure or smnthg else
