Do not use alcohol to wipe the persons chest dry alcohol is flammable

Do not use AED pads on a child who is younger than eight years old or less than 55 pounds

Do not use pediatric pads on adults

Do not touch the person below the AED is Defibrillating the person

Do not touch the person while the AED is analyzing heart rhythm

Do not use aed around flammable stuff like gasoline materials

Do not use in AED in a moving vehicle

Do not use an AED on a person wearing a nitroglycerin patch or a medical

Q

How to use an AED on adult??

A
  1. Turn on AED
  2. Wipe the Bare chest Dry with a towel or gauze pad, this will make the pads stick
  3. Please one pad on the upper right chest and the other pad on the left side of the chest
  4. Plug the AED connector if necessary
  5. Let the AED analyze her/his heart rhythm or push the button marked analyze heart rhythm if indicated in prompt by the AED advice all responders and bystanders to stand clear no one should touch the person while the AED is analyzing because this could result in Faulty readings
  6. If the AED advice is that a shock is needed make sure that no one, including you is touching the person and say to everyone “stand clear” deliver the shock by pushing the shock button if necessary.
  7. After delivering the shock or no shock is advised perform about two minutes or five cycles of CPR continue to follow the prompts of the AED

18
Q

List the special situation for AED

 pacemaker in implantable cardioverter defibrillator
 Transdermal medication patch
hypothermia
Trauma
chest hair
metal surface
Jewelry and body piercings
