Chapter 3 Flashcards
What does the title, Huts on the Beach signify?
Ralph begins to realize the importance of a shelter, but the children are having difficulty creating sufficient huts. The boys on the island are not focused enough to complete the task.
Why does Ralph approach jack?
The hunters are not helping to build the shelters and the boys that do help have very short attention spans.
What does jack put as the highest priority?
Jack thinks hunting is of more importance, despite the fact that there are enough fruits on the island. Ralph is truly dedicated to the well being of every one and tries to make decisions on behalf of everyone on the island, while jack spends all his time hunting instead of doing something more productive.
Jack’s goals are very short term and specifically about the gratification that would come.
