to change margin settings
- Display the Page Layout tab. Click the Adjust Margins button.
- Click Moderate in the Adjust Margins gallery to change the margins to specified settings.
to change an object’s text wrapping
- With shape selected, click Layout options button attached to graphic.
- click ‘Top and Bottom’ in the Layout options gallery
To apply a shape style
- With shape selected, click More button in the shape styles gallery. Point to which effect you want to apply.
- Apply desired effect in shape styles gallery.
To resize a graphic to a percent of original
- with graphic selected, click Advanced Layout Size Dialog Box launcher(Picture Tools Format tab/Size Group)
- In the scale area, click desired height. Do the same in Height box, press TAB key.
To adjust Brightness and contrast of a Graphic
Display Picture Tools Format tab. With graphic selected, click Corrections button. Point to desired Brightness and Contrast.
to insert a symbol from symbol Dialog box
- Display Insert tab. Click ‘Insert Symbol’ button.
- Click More Symbols. Click subset arrow to General Punctuation-Character code 2022. Scroll to dot symbol.
Click insert button.
to set custom tab stops
- Press Enter key so that blank line appears above insertion point. Click the TAB selector at the left edge of horizontal ruler until it displays left tab icon.
- Position the pointer on 4” mark on ruler, and click on it.
To create a building block
- Select text to be a building block. ex. Washington Volunteer Foundation. Click Explore quick Parts button (Insert tab, text group).
- Click Save Selection to Quick Part gallery. Type wvf in Name Text box.
- Click OK button.
To insert Building Block
Press F3 to instruct Word to replace building block with stored building block entry
To insert Non breaking Space
Press CTRL+Shift spacebar
To resize Table Columns to fit table contents
- Display Table Tools Layout tab. Click AutoFit button(Table Tools Layout tab-Cell Size Group)
- Click Autofit Contents on Autofit menu.
To Bullet a List as your type.
- Press Asterisk key(*).
2. Press Spacebar to convert asterisk to a bullet character.
