Computerized Tomography; enhanced X-ray scan; shows structure of the brain
PET Scan
Positron-emission Tomography; uses radio-isotope labeling to track blood flow and brain activity
SPECT Scan
Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography; similar to PET but less accurate and less expensive
MRI
Magnetic Resonance Imaging; detailed brain anatomy; fMRI shows function and structure
Tests that detect changes in brain activity via emotional and psychological changes
Psychophysiological Tests
EEG
Electroencephalogram; measures electrical activity of the brain
Tests that present an ambiguous stimuli to be interpreted
Projective Tests
A set of symptoms that tend to occur together
Symdrome
Meeting criteria for multiple disorders at once
