A

1509- became Royal Almoner, making him a member of the Royal Council.
-meant access to the King and gain his trust.
Henry disinterested in administrative matters of the state-allowed Wolsey to rise- organised force to invade France.
Showed the King someone who could be quick and efficient on getting things done.
