What is indigenous knowledge?
Typically defined as the beliefs, assumptions and understandings of non-western peoples developed through associations with a specific place over many generations.
It is also an awareness of the vibrant relationships among the people, environment, and other living things and spirits that share the land.
What is a differentiator between science and indigenous knowledge?
Indigenous laws focus on a holistic view which where as science focuses on the component parts.
What does an investigation of ways of knowing entail?
An examination of how people understand themselves, ways of knowings, and philosophies in life in response to ecologically specific rhythms, patterns and events.
