Trait Approach
The way we act is based on our traits/characteristics: Big 5 Model, perfectionism
Situational Approach
Behavior is determined by situation or environment: emphasizes importance of situation on behavior
Interactional Approach
Behavior is determined by both person and situation: emphasizes both trait and situational variable and their interaction
Phenomenological Approach
Behavior is determined by accounting for situational and personal characteristics: person’s understanding of themself and their environment
