What is a theory?
A set of interrelated facts that present a systematic view of some phenomenon in order to describe, explain, and predict its future occurrences
What is a study?
An investigator observes or assesses factors WITHOUT changing the environment in any way
What is an experiment?
The investigator manipulates the variables along with observing them and then examines how changes in one variable affect changes in another
Psychophysiological Orientation
Mind and body- Looking at how mind and body connection causes behavior
Social-Psychological Orientation
Behavior is determined by interaction of social environment and the personal makeup of athlete
Cognitive-behavioral Orientation
Behavior is determined by both the environment and thoughts
