a motivational theory that suggests people have 5 fundamental needs, with the sequential attainment of each one acting as a source of motivation
what are physiological needs and how to fulfill
basic human needs such as food and shelter, can be satisfied by providing living wage
what are safety and security needs and how to fulfill
desire to be protected from threatening enviroments, can be fulfilled by providing employees with job security and stable income
what are social needs and how to fulfill
desire to belong in groups, can be fulfilled by encouraging team based work and celebrating milestones
what are esteem needs and how to fulfill
desire to be valued and respected, can be earnt by achieving promotions or monetary rewards
what are self actualisation needs and how to fulfill
desire to reach ones full potential through creativity and personal growth, can be fulfilled by assigning work that encourages creativity and opportunities for skill devlopment
