Where is the parotid gland located?
superficial to and partly behind the ramus of the mandible and covers the masseter muscle. It fills the space between the ramus of the mandible and the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
Which are the more common histologic cell types of malignant tumors?
adenoid cystic, mucoepidermoid, and adenocarcinoma

3%-4%
How long do patients have development of an asymptomatic parotid mass before presentation?
4-8 months
What are presenting symptoms of a parotid mass?
localized swelling and pain, facial palsy, and rapid growth.
