What is the Bible?
The Bible is a book of faith recording the ways that God has remained faithful to his people.
What does the Old Testament tell us?
It tells us who God is by telling us what God has done for the Jewish People and for us.
What do Christians see the events and truths of faith in the Old Testament leading to?
It leads to Jesus and his teachings found in the New Testament.
What do we learn in the New Testament?
We learn about God’s final Revelation in Jesus Christ and the salvation that comes from Christ. We learn about the first Christian communities and the beginning of the world-wide Church.

It contains 27 books.
What books make up the Gospels?
They are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
What do the Gospels help us understand?
They help us understand that Jesus Christ is Messiah and the Son of God.

Why were the Epistles written?
To discuss specific problems in the community, to instruct the people on how to live and worship, and to explain the role of the leaders of the community.
What are the other writings in the New Testament besides the Gospels and the Epistles?
The Acts of the Apostles and the Book of Revelation.
What does the Acts of the Apostles describe?
It describes the beginning and growth of the Church and the various missionary trips of the Apostles and disciples.
The Acts of the Apostles is a continuation of which gospel?
The gospel of Luke.
What does the Book of Revelation deal with?
Christ’s second coming at the end of time.
What is God calling us to do?
He is calling us to learn from our ancestors in faith, calling us to respond to his love and to follow his Son.
What do we learn from the Bible on how to live as Christians?
The Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, the Great Commandment, and Christ’s new commandment.
