What are symptoms of Schizophrenia?

- Hearing voices, -Unrealistic ideas and thoughts,
- Difficulty communicating
What is different with communication with a person who has Schizo?
it is confusing and illogical
What are the four subtypes of Schizo with a description?
D CPU:
- Disorganized: silly, immature emotions
- Catatonic: alternating periods of agitation and immobility
- Paranoid: delusions of grandeur or persecution
- Undifferentiated: does not fit the above categories
What are positive symptoms of Schizo?
- Delusions
- Hallucination
- Bizarre Behaviour
What are negative symptoms of Schizo?
FLARES
- Flat affect
- Loss of motivation
- Anhedonia
- Reduced Speech
- Social Withdrawal
What can be the etiology of Child/Adolescent Schizo?
Excessive synaptic pruning. Loss of cortical grey matter.

What aspects would we not be able to confirm with testing for Schizo in animal models?
Delusions and Hallucinations

Mesolimbic: + symptoms

Nigrostriatal: motor side effects

What is Tardive Dyskinesia?
- Stereotyped involuntary movements
- quick and uncontrolled movements of arms and legs
