What is a noun
A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or abstraction.
What is a pronoun?
A pronoun also names, by taking the place of the noun. The noun for which the pronoun is stepping in is called the antecedent.
What is an adjective?
An adjective is a modifying word that describes or clarifies a noun
What is a limiting adjective?
Limiting adjectives specify, quantify, or identify the noun presented.
What is a verb?
A word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence.
What is an adverb?
An adverb modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
What is a preposition?
A preposition indicates the relation of a noun or pronoun to some other word(s) in a sentence.
What makes a prepositional phase?
A propositional phrase is made up of the preposition, the noun or pronoun that is its object, and the modifiers of the object.
What are compound prepositions?
They are prepositions made up of more than one word.
What are conjunctions?
They are words that join words, phrases, or clauses together.
What are coordinate conjuctions?
They join words, phrases, and clauses that are of equal importance. (And, but, for, or, neither, nor, yet)
What is a subordinate conjunction?
Subordinate conjunctions connect two unequal parts, e.g., dependent and independent clauses
What is a correlative conjunction?
Correlative conjunction indicate a complementary grammatical relationship. (Either … or)
What are conjunction adverbs?
They are adverbs that join independent clauses, which may also be whole sentences.
What are interjections?
An interjection is a word or a collection of words that express feelings.
