What is Physical Security according to ASIS?
That part of security concerned with physical measures designed to safeguard people; to prevent unauthorized access to equipment, facilities, material, and documents; and to safeguard them against a security incident.
What is physical security according to homeland security?
The portion of internal security that is concerned with physical measures designed to safeguard personnel; prevent unauthorized access to equipment, facilities, material, and documents; and defend them against espionage, sabotage, damage, and theft.
What is security?
The condition of being protected against hazards, threats, risks, tampering, or loss.

What is access control?
any technique used to limit or otherwise manage access to an area, facility, compound, system, person, or other asset.
What is deterrence?
barriers, technology, and procedures taken to convince a potential attacker that they will not be successful, and therefore influence them to avoid the site.
What is detection?
the capacity of the physical protection system to sense that a potential intruder is present.
What is Assessment?
the ability of the physical protection system to determine what was detected and make a decision about whether or not to initiate a response.
What is delay?
security measures deployed to slow the progress of an intruder.
What is response?
the actions taken to neutralize, contain, or mitigate an event.
What is CPTED?
