Definition of personality
A
A relatively consistent set of traits a person exhibits across a variety of situations.

Perceiving the self:
A
- Self concept defined - a set of relatively stable perceptions that each of us holds about ourselves. Self esteem
- Communication and development of the self - reflected appraisal, the theory that a persons self-concept matches the way that person believes others regard them.
- Culture and self concept - notion of self is shaped by the culture in which we have been raised. Most Western cultures are highly individualistic whereas most Asian ones are more collective
- Self concept, personality, and communication
- Self-fulfilling prophecy - the expectation of the outcome makes the outcome more likely to happen. Teachers need to have high expectations. If you want to bring out the best in people, “give them a high expectation to live up to”.
