They are dusts that are released during industrial processes.

What does the ozone layer do?
It shield the earth of ultraviolet radiation.
What is the danger of ultraviolet radiation?
It can cause skin cancer.
What is an ozone hole?
It is the extreme thinning of the protective shield of stratospheric ozone.
What are the principle sources of pollutants that are volatile, easily vaporized organic compounds?
Transportation (automobiles), and industrial processes.
What is acid rain?
It is rain that is more acidic than normal.
Where is acid rain more prevalent?
In industrialized areas.
