Antibody
Plasma protein produced by B-lymphocytes that destroys or inactivates a specific substance (anitgen) that has entered the body
Antigen
substance usually a protein fragment, that causes an immune response
Basophil
white blood cell that stains readlily with basic (alkaline) dyes
Diapedesis
passage of any formed elements within blood through the vessel wall, as in movement of whit cells into an area of injury and infection
Eosinophil
white blood cell, readily stained by eosin (a reddish acid dye), that attacks large parasites that regullate varous metabolic pathways of the body
Erythrocyte
red blood cell

process of red blood cell formation
Formed Elements
any of the cells of the blood tissue: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets in blood
