Semi Structured Interview
A type of interview in which the interviewer has a series of questions in the general form of an interview guide and is able to vary the sequence of questions
Secondary Analysis
the analysis of data (quantitative or qualitative) by researchers other than those responsible for their collection often for purposes that the latter may not have thought of
Introductions purpose is to:
grab readers attention
give a clear indication of article’s focus
provide an indication of the likely significance of the findings
Theory
existing ideas and research on the topic is presented
Hypothesis
an informed speculation which is set up to be tested about the possible relationship between two or more variables
Data
author outlines the data sets used for the research
sampling procedures are outlines along with sample sizes and response rates
Measurement
the explanations of the main concepts are measured
Methods and Models
a very technical section outlining both the different ways in which the relationships between variables can be conceptualized and the implications of using different methods
Multivariate Data Analysis
the examination of relationships among three or more variables
Results
author provides a general description of their findings and then consider whether the hypothesis is supported
Conclusions
author returns to the issues driving the investigation
Participant Observation
research in which fieldworkers are immersed in a social setting for an extended period of time
observe behaviours, ask questions, and analyze conversations
