Measures oxygen levels in the blood
Unreliable post ox when –
If the pt has cold hands, colored nail polish or acrylic nails, edema, or carbon monoxide poisoning
If post ox Abnormal, check for –
Check for signs of adequate perfusion: Warm skin, pink mucous membranes, strong pulses, and capillary refill < 2 seconds.
Measurements in age range (post ox)
All ranges should lead up to 95 - 100%
