what is sexual reproduction?
the process of sexual reproduction is when the young of an organism are formed when the nuclei of two sex cells, namely an egg cell and a sperm cell, fuse/ join together.
what is fertilisation?
the fusion of sex cells
what happens when an egg is fertilised?
it develops into an embryo and eventually into a new individual
the fusion of a sperm cell and an egg cell results to?
in a fertilised egg that contains material from both sex cells.
what is heredity?
the passing down or genetic materials from one generation to the next during sexual reproduction.
why do children look like their parents?
due to heredity as children inherit traits or characteristics from their parents.
chilrden may look like their parents, but they don’t look identical.
why do children not look identical to their father/ mother?
they often possess a mix of traits from both their parents.
how does the mixing of traits in individuals happen?
during sexual reproduction, the individual that is formed recives genetic material from the mother via an egg and from the father via the sperm.

what happens during this period?
puberty
what is puberty?
the process in which the body undergoes various physical changes and matures sexually.
when does puberty begin?
when certain hormones are produced by the body.
what are hormones?
hormones are chemicals produced by different parts of the body.
what are the functions of hormones?
they control and coordinate activities throughout the body by triggering other organs to function.
where are hormones found?
they are found in very small quantities in the blood.
but they have a huge effect on many organ systems like the hrs
during puberty,
what are some changes that young men go through?
- height and weight increase
- voice deepens
- facial, armpit and pubic hair
- muscle strength increases
- production of sperm begins
