Chapter 1.4: Types of Flow Control Valve Flashcards
what is the function of selector valve?
control the direction of movement of hydraulic actuator
provide simultaneous flow of hydraulic fluid both in & out of unit
what does a check valve do?
allows fluid flow in one direction but prevents flow from the opposite
what does an orifice check valve do?
allows full fluid flow in one direction but restricts flow from the opposite
what does a sequence valve do?
control the sequence of operation of 2 different components
types of sequence valves
mechanical and pressure controlled
what does a priority valve do?
gives priority to the primary hydraulic subsystems over secondary systems when system pressure is low
what does a shuttle valve do?
when there is more than one source to supply the fluid to operate components
what does a hydraulic fuse do?
safety device that detects sudden increase in flow that passes through the fuse
once detected, it will close to stop leakage from upstream system
2 types of selector valves
open & close centered
