  3. States Rights: South wanted to become their own country because they didn’t want the federal government to tell them what to do. Then the Northern states went to war to prevent the South from seceding.
  4. Economic differences: North was based on industry, while the South was based on Agriculture.
  5. The Kansas-Nebraska Act: It enraged the North because every state was going to decide via Popular Sovereignty whether or not they will be a slave state.
