Chapter 13 - Hydraulics Flashcards
L hydraulic system, is the electric pump activated when in AUTO when there is a high system demand ?
Yes.
C hydraulic system, is the air pump activated when in AUTO when there is a high system demand ?
Yes.
R hydraulic system, is the electric pump activated when the EDP pressure is low ?
Yes.
C hydraulic system, is the air pump activated when one electric pump pressure is low ?
No. Only when both pumps have low pressure or high system demand.
What items are on the L hydraulic system ?
- Flight controls
- R yaw damper
What items are on the R hydraulic system ?
- Flight controls
- Normal brakes + brake accumulator
- Pitch enhancement system
Which hydraulic pump is inhibited during first engine start and may cause PRESS and SYS PRESS indications ?
The L electric demand pump.
In the C hydraulic system, is there a reserve for brakes and steering in case of a C hydraulic leak ?
Yes.
Can load shedding of the C2 electric pump occur ?
Yes.
Is the ADP normally activated during LG retraction and flaps extension/retraction ?
Yes. If the ADP is inop, this will take more time !
When is the C1 electric pump automatically isolated for reserve brakes and steering ?
When the system quantity is sensed low.
What does the RAT power ?
The flight controls portion of the C hydraulic system. Nothing else.
When is the HDG activated ?
How is it powered ?
When power loss occurs of both AC main busses.
By the C hydraulic system (ADP is also activated).
When is the RAT activated ?
What is the minimum speed ?
Failure of both engines.
130kts.
What indication can be expected on the C hydraulic system if the RAT is the only hydraulic source ?
C SYS PRESS light.
